Description:

Inspired by the impressionist painters this knitted, felted bag became my canvas for recreating a Van Gogh sunflower still life painting with yarn. Van Gogh began painting a series of sunflower oil paintings in 1888. Sunflowers were his flower of choice and he wanted to decorate his studio with sunflowers. A series of Van Gogh paintings in 1888 is identified only as "Sunflowers". This knitted, felted, embroidered, needle felted bag is lovely and fun. I wet felted a sphere to hook onto the zipper as a zipper pull and a small, lovely charm is attached to the wet felted ball. The interior is entirely lined with a lovely fashion fabric in the colors of the vase & flowers. The 40 inch strap/handle is entirely hand embroidered with lovely yarns to highlight the sunflower theme.
