Description
A view of the Catskiil Creek taken from the plaza area outside the Historic Warehouse. The Hudson River and Catskill Creek converge at this point. The 3 1/2 acre park has two floating docks,an outdoor cobblestone plaza and two restored buildings - the Freight Masters building and the Historic Warehouse - a 115 yr old wooden building with bay doors opening to the beautiful views on both sides of the building and truss ceilings. Many events are held here - including the annual Cat-N-Around Catskill Auction, weddings, private parties, etc. Henry Hudson docked here over 400 years ago.
"In days gone by, the Catskill Point served as the
gateway to the Catskills with the Day Liner boats
transporting visitors from New York City to this site.
From here, visitors could venture further via railway
to the many grand hotel resorts, like the Catskill
Mountain House, which have been made famous by
the Hudson River School of Painters."
