Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
This is the second painting in a series of three featuring vintage cameras. II believe this one is a pre-WWII model.
I find old cameras to be charming and I love all the dials and mechanical things. On this model I love the curve of the metal braces.
There are many photographers who collect old cameras and still shoot with them. I often wonder where they find the film.
This is from a time when the creative process took place as the photograph was being taken, not so much in the editing of the image.
The black and white sprocket hole detail really makes the yellow background pop and gives the painting its 'edge'. A great nostalgic image painted in a pop art style.
