delicate butterfly wings
Growing up, my mother kept a lot of house plants - and I mean a lot. Sometimes I expected a tropical bird to swoop down or to hear a deep primal growl from somewhere in the foliage. African violets were one of her favourite plants. What I remember most about those violets is that, though they were soft, they hated to be touched and they needed just the right amount of ambient light to bloom.
