Description:
Vintage viticulture sketches, circa 1930. A set of 10 original watercolor and graphite sketches of the viticulture process, from plowing to harvesting, circa 1930. With notations in French throughout, these beautifully executed sketches were most likely preliminary studies for a larger project, such as a mural or set of posters. Created by an as yet unidentified artist whose stamp, "AG", is included on most of the pieces, this body of work illustrates the timeless art of making wine as observed in the early half of the 20th century. The drawings average around 15-1/2 x 11-1/2” image size and are drawn on a sheets of 20 x 13” wove paper and mounted to linen supports of 21 x 14”, like posters. Framed (25-1/2 x 19-3/4"). To see individual pieces, please contact us and we will email images to you.
