Looking dangerous. Probably quite sweet. I'll skip the neighborly visit though. Fabulous capture.

Fabulous capture Karen. I love the tiny little details on this little creature. The web is gorgeous too.

Yes, tried flash on, flash off ... flash on camera, flash held away from camera ... flashlight here there and everywhere ... flashlight AND camera flash. sigh. Mrs. Spider has since left the premises ... I'll go back through my images now that I'm not consumed with frustration and will probably see one or two that I'll like!!!
Karen Slagle replied:
Oh no, Lois. I held the flash at different angles and strength. Don't give up, I KNOW you will be successful at some point. Hopefully another spider will come your way soon.

You and your spiders - ewwwwwww. But oh my goodness you're good at it. Gorgeous macro Karen and fabulous light! F/V
Karen Slagle replied:
You are too funny, Lianne. But, I know how you feel about spiders, I don't like them either. Glad you like this shot.

Karen! - Now there is a good looking spider :) I am pleased to know another spider fan V/F
Karen Slagle replied:
Thank you Bob. I always appreciate your comments. A spider fan I am not, if they touch me they're dead. I do however appreciate their fine webs.

He must be getting lots of take out in this spot, he's beautiful! Dee
Karen Slagle replied:
Thank you Dee. I love watching spiders weaving their webs each evening, not sure how many dinners he's gotten in this spot. He's gone by morning when the sun rises.

oh YUMMY!!!!! it's spider time!!!!! Great, great capture!!!! i was stalking one very much like this a few weeks back .. little devil would only come out at night though ... what a trail to get a decent shot. YOU on the other hand obviously had no such troubles!!!! This ... is ... AWESOME!!!!! f/v (by the way, reading your description sounds like what i tried as well!!! Great minds thing alike, lol!!)
Karen Slagle replied:
Thank you so very much Lois. It was tricky, the wind was blowing him and the web around. Every time the wind stopped for an instant I took a shot, finally got one in focus...Try, try, try you will get it if I know you. Have you tried it with your flash?
