I'm an American working in the Middle East and some of my artwork is inspired by this place. Like my other pieces, this one started as a drawing that formed into a face. I designed this piece to make your eyes work a little to see what it represents. You can probably see the eyes and the clumpy curled hair to start. Then you are probably able to see the unshaven lower face and chin as well as the mouth. Then there are those sun-creased wrinkled fanning out in waves from the eyes. You might even see the sunburned nose. If you look at my artwork you will notice the one consistency is the lack of consistency. I try to make each piece different from all the others. With each piece I try something new and try to learn something in the process making each piece a process of self discovery.
