What About Love Photography
Photograph - Photography
The title of this image is "What about Love?" I chose this name to honor my former resident physician who casually proposed this question to me when I was suffering from a debilitating anxiety disorder. Basically, after trying a gazillion medications, he suggested writing poetry and this question, "What about Love?" Now, most patients do not receive this type of comment from their physician, however, my doctor is an intuitive and unique individual. Though seven years has passed since I heard those three magical words and he suggested the right "prescription," it transformed my life. I love writing poetry and I have a love affair with love. This image was taken shortly after I had a visit with him. I was strolling around Safeway and noticed some orchids for sale. I whipped out my camera, sat on the ground and started taking photos. As I was snapping shots left and right, poetic phrases were spinning in my mind. "Within the sound of light, by the quiet moonrise, all silence collides, in the beholder of the eye. For the brightest star, is the farthest away, and in my parallel universes of my everyday." After several minutes, the manager of Safeway walked over to me and asked me to stop taking pictures of their flowers, right under their sign "poetry in motion," he said otherwise he would have to ask me to leave the store. I stood up and said, "Well then, I am leaving." When I arrived home and downloaded the gazillion images, I found this one and fell in love with it. Looks like a "moonrise" in the background. That was a light on top of the ceiling. Anyway, most all of my images on Fine Art America have stories behind them similar to this one. All my photos have a poetic flair to each one. For some reason, when I am outdoors and I capture floral images, my mind goes berserk with words, synonyms, phrases, and profound poetic meanings. It is amazing to think of the marriage between poetry and floral photography and what it brings to my soul. It feels like there is an endless supply of energy for me to tape into too. I am never fatigued over poetry or photography. I hesitate to talk so much about the spiritual aspect of my life, but all my images have a spiritual meaning. I hope you can not only see the beauty in these photo's, but to also feel them.
