Nice combination of so many different textures, colours and surfaces. The shininess of the wheel tyre making a great contrast to the other elements. Lots of colour and interest! v

Thanks for the great, detailed comment, Martin. I appreciate that!

Featured in the Photographic Excellence group. I'm honored, Robert -- thank you!

Gorgeous - This is one of the fundamentals of railroad technology - wheel meeting rail. The polish on the contacting surfaces contrasts so strongly with the rust on the other parts. Beautiful and intriguing.

The beautiful contrast is exactly what caught my eye, Johnny! Well, that -- and the fact that I can't resist shiny things, in general. :-) Thanks for the lovely comment.

This a a great example of getting the best out of the whole Wendy, all that weathered metal with the pristine and polished surface sets everything off just perfectly. Well Done!. Michael. V/F.

Thanks, Michael. I was intrigued by how constant use keeps such a shine on these huge wheels. Couldn't resist it, of course! :-)

Love the difference you captured in this image!!! Stunningly beautiful!!! V/F

Thank you for the wonderful comment, Steven. It's easy to be inspired by such a great subject! :-)

Great shot and incredible digital enhancements, Wendy... the polished wheel and overall detail is amazing - titled to perfection! Definitely a f/v from me :)

Thanks very much, Donna. It was the shine on that wheel that caught my eye . . . and the fact that I could fit my head under there. ;-)

A very interesting subject, where the amazing polishing of the wheel in a dirty environment is displayed in a highly emphasized manner.

Thanks, Gregory -- polished and sterile, if the heat coming off this thing was any indication.

Arcadia, MO - United States

Very striking design.

Another 'Thank you!', kind sir. :-)

The color and depth of this is really beautiful! So many times, I think that the camera just doesn't capture how I think the image will look and especially how the light (and color) will look. Your photos and enhancements are awe inspiring!

Thanks so much, Diana! After years of 'straight' photography, I remember how excited I was to discover awesome, digital 'nudges' for my images. Digital enhancements are virtually limitless -- if you can imagine it, you can do it -- without the toxic, expensive environment of the traditional darkroom. I'm all for using any technique that helps me tell visual stories exactly the way I want to! :-)
