When A Woman Goes Fishing
Painting - Mixed Mediums Painting
When A Woman Goes Fishing is a complete repainting of Singer Sargents "Woman Fishing", although his was less vibrant - in part due to age as it was painted in 1830, and my dedication to him is more colorful and vibrant - a definite air of a modern color scheme was my intent with this work. I must admit I have always loved painting water, and have done so quite a lot, but doing a dedication work was a little more than I had planned on as I sure didn't reproduce the water verbatim, and kind of diverted from Sargent's yellow tones in the sea and the woman, replacing the colors with more vivid golden orange-yellowish colors which seemed to me to bring the work back to life. I omitted some of the ducks - small ducks were not really what I wanted to see repeated - I placed more on water reflectivity and the woman herself. I doubt Mr Sargent would agree with me :)
Watermarks are not printed on any final product.
