When Pat Loved Larry
Painting - Acrylic On Masonite Panel
Larry and Pat were old friends from HS. I had Pat in my first art class. they homesteaded for several years living like our great grandparents. Unfortunately, Pat wanted out of the daily chores living scene. Many a day wer spent leaning against the woodheater in the sparse living room smelling Pat's homemade bread. Larry and I would rustle up wild onions, wapapto (Sagittaria latifolia is a plant found in shallow wetlands and is sometimes known as broadleaf arrowhead, duck potato, Indian potato, or wapato) and wild stinging nettle greens for a lunch soup. And play dulcimers until the sun set. This was a view out their back door in 1974. This was for you Pat and Larry. The outhouse was a working model and used often.
