When The Raven Returned The Light
Painting - Acrylic On Canvas
The Common Raven (Corvus Corax), also known as the Northern Raven, is a large, all-black passerine bird. Found across the whole northern hemisphere, The Raven is a magical bird and has appeared in the mythology of many ancient people. Some of the more common stories are from those of Celtic, Norse, Pacific Northwest, Native American, and Roman mythology. One is the creator raven, responsible for bringing the world into being and who is sometimes considered to be the individual who brought light to the darkness. raven and crows are very intelligent birds, ravens mate with only one partner for a lifetime and are very social.
Apart from its greater size, the Common Raven differs from its cousins, the crows, by having a larger and heavier, black beak, shaggy feathers around the throat and above the beak, and a wedge-shaped tail.
