Description

@ 2013 Sandra Bronstein Photography. All Rights Reserved.

This wonderful old house, located in Thompson Springs, Utah was just sitting there waiting to be photographed. This entire town is nearly defunct, except for a nearby gas station, due mainly to the fact that the successful mining business in the area, near Sego Canyon, dried up many, many years ago. There remain a few residents and pronghorn sheep in the area today. The railroad still utilizes the original tracks but there is no longer a stop at the old station. This town sees quite a bit of visitorship due in large part to its proximity to Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park and Moab, Utah. With so few residents, it was very touching to watch an old man paint the few mailboxes and remaining sign in a tiny park with such diligence and care.
