Hi Sandy. Hope all is well with you and yours. I saw this I think yesterday while I was at least trying to keep some notion of what was going on in the Abandoned and Forlorn group, and I started drooling right then and there. I didn't feel comfortable using too much time on someone else's machine, and couldn't wait to get my computer up and running, which thankfully happened today. This was definitely worth the wait. This is just so very, very good. The line up of the window, and on through the doors, is perfect. The green on the window frame gives brightness to an otherwise kind of dark and foreboding subject. I guess dark and foreboding aren't the right words, but I think you know what I mean to say. It's so cool that the chipping paint on the outside takes one's eye right on into the house and the chipping on the door frames. It wouldn't be a chore for me at all to sit here and slobber all over everything at the wish that I could call it one of my own, but... we all wish for just that that we don't have. Thank you so much for posting this in Abandoned and Forlorn. f/v and featured.

Description

This wonderful old house, located in Thompson Springs, Utah was just sitting there waiting to be photographed. This entire town is nearly defunct, except for a nearby gas station, due mainly to the fact that the successful mining business in the area, near Sego Canyon, dried up many, many years ago. There remain a few residents and pronghorn sheep in the area today. The railroad still utilizes the original tracks but there is no longer a stop at the old station. This town sees quite a bit of visitorship due in large part to its proximity to Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park and Moab, Utah.
