Wildflowers By A Blue Ridge Sunset
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Wildflowers by a Blue Ridge Sunset is a colorful look at the intense blue ridge. I am always fascinated by the changing colors in the mountains and never tire of painting different versions. Mu husband, Clyde Kessler, is a well known naturalist in The New River Valley and spends much of his time researching these beautiful ranges for birds and butterflies. His discovery of the endangered Mitchel Satyr butterfly in 1998 is considered to be one of the most important wildlife finds in the second half of the twentieth century in Virginia. I have many fond memories of walking trails on these ridges with him and getting inspirations for paintings.
