Wilmot River Casuarina Understory
Sculpture - Glass, Rainforest Remnants And Newspaper, Stainless Steel Frames
The Wilmot River is represented in panel 3. The glass has been cut and places to provide a movement typical of this river. Running with rainforest remnants from the logging upstream and with news paper cuttings, it tells the story of the loss of landscape accruing along the way.
Panel 4 shows the Casuarina leaves captured in-between the glass as you would find it in the landscape on the ground. A fine acidic pine smelling leaf which starts to grows past the rainforest, into the dominant Eucalyptus forests and down to the sea.
