In 1897 Edson Loy Pearce purchased land in the Mont St-Bruno area of Quebec and started to build his own secluded community in an around the waterways of the wooded property at the base of the mountain. This 3-arched stone bridge was constructed shortly after the turn of the century. The home he built for himself has burned down long ago. The other homes and mills that were built around that time are also abandoned historical monuments. Only the bridge has withstood the ravages of change and remains solidly standing and true to its original purpose.
