Unprecedented in American architecture, the Burke Brise Soleil is a moveable, wing-like sunscreen that rests on top of the Milwaukee Art Museum's vaulted, glass-enclosed Windhover Hall - part of the graceful Quadracci Pavilion - a sculptural, postmodern addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum completed in 2001, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.
