When I look at this amazing piece of work I am struck by the sheer beauty of the angel as she flies gracefully over a surreal and very orderly world. Everything seems to be in its place. The Olive trees march splendidly over the hills and the mountains rise up grandly. Down below the trees stand sentinel, keeping watch over the landscape as flocks of tropical birds soar over the valley below. But the birds are flying in opposite directions suggesting the contradictions, decisions and changes that take place in our lives. In a perfect world the angel would have arms , but everyone knows that it's wings that will take her to heaven.

Description:

I don't conceive a landscape without being inhabited by human beings. In all places where I have inhabited I have found human overpopulation.
My style-thematic are a mix of the real with the unreal, the social with the political, the historical with the folkloric, that past with the present, etc.. In deduction of these (with all my respect to those artist who are devoted to this type of landscape), to paint a landscape without people, I find it, no only in somehow empty, but rather, in most of the cases, it is lent to be acquired "mainly" as an decor object, and no by its "communicative" valor in the "art territory".

THIS PAINTING: Since 1989 I have painted girls and women with wings as a symbolic way of their sucess as human being in the society: intellectual-economic. . In this painting, she flies playful over two flocks that fly in opposed address.
