Winter In The Valley
Photograph - Print
Stoneman Bridge in Yosemite Valley is a popular spot for photographers and painters alike. Looking up to the Northeast the Merced River flows down from Happy Isle and crosses in Front of Half Dome. To the south you can follow the river down along the eastern walls of the valley.
From the North Western side of the bridge you have a clear view of the majestic Yosemite Falls.
I spent the day driving around the valley taking in the sights with the freshly fallen snow. We crossed the bridge many times during the day but the clouds were to heavy to get a clear view of any of the landmarks in Yosemite Valley.
Early in the afternoon we started to see the clouds break. We drove back around and set up our tripods and waited as the clouds broke around the dome. I really like how the sun hit the freshly fallen show on the western side of the Merced River.
