Winter Sunset Over Gardiner's Bay
FAA WATERCOLOR MARK DOES NOT APPEAR ON FINAL SALES
While returning to my hotel I was staying at while in Montauk, New York I continued to drive by Gardiner's Bay. During a very cold, windy day as the sun was setting over Montauk and the rest of Long Island I pulled up to the edge of Gardiner's Bay and photographed this dramatic shot of a powerful winter sun setting behind the clouds that were stretching across the Bay and causing a silhouette on the small set of moutains in the background. At the same time the sun at the time of this photograph was still strong enough to have some of it's rays reflect off of the very rough wakes in Gardiner's Bay. Leaving a great line from the sun reflection on the water to the silhouetted mountains and up into the blue sky, before the sun minutes later dropped down behind the horizon and left Montauk, New York in darkness.
