With Rosa Parks
Photograph - Photography/sculpture
I was quite active in the arena of civil rights in the 60s and years later I was shocked to come across these statues in the Civil Rights Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. The statues depict me talking with Rosa Parks, ironically a woman I admired, but never met. Upon inquiry to the curator of the museum, I learned that the statues had been sculpted from wire photo pictures taken at protest rallies in Washington, Birmingham, Selma and Montgomery. What a small world it is!
