Thank you for all the comments - this took quite a while in the planning and execution. In answer to Josh's comment about the geography being a bit off, that is actually meant to be a feature of the map. The vast majority of real life metro maps, the most classic being the London Tube Map, are schematic diagrams and not geographically correct. I tried to find a balance whereby the map kept to a fundmental schematic style whilst at the same time leaving countries/continents in fairly recognizable form.
