Yellow Coltsfoot Flower
Photograph - Nature Photography
Yellow Coltsfoot Flower (Tussilago farfara) by Christina Rollo. Coltsfoot is a common plant found in North and South America, probably introduced by settlers as a medicinal item. It's one of the first flowers to bloom before spring, usually early to mid March. It can be found along roadsides and disturbed areas. You may not even notice them because from a distance, they look very similar to dandelions.
