The Yellow Crowned Amazon Parrot is native to South American and as far north a Panama. It is a small bird with green plumage over most of its body and yellow feathers on its head. Sometimes some of the feathers made be red, but those show only here and there. It has a short almost square tail, white eye rings and a hooked beak. They are found in pairs within small flocks. Their numbers are in decline but not yet close enough to be on the Endangered List.
