One area on my bucket list had always been to visit Yellowstone National Park. That was until this summer when I finally made the time to visit the awesome park.
Driving east through Nevada and Idaho I really had no idea on what to expect upon my arrival. I can certainly understand after driving through the north end of the park why they call Montana "Big Sky Country". It is truly beautiful. I know right now that I will be back to visit this treasure again.
Many things in the park are big, big sky big mountains, big animals, big geysers, big everything. In fact everything is so big that I had to remind myself to look closer to see the smaller pieces that make up the whole.
This is one of those images that I captured that just show a small piece of the larger whole.
This is a desolate landscape where the steam and gasses have killed most living things anywhere near them. That is except for the very small microorganisms that make up the various colors lying just under the water that is emptying into this nearby stream.
