paul this is such a superb portrait of a major figure in rock history.yoko is not everyones cup of tea,and for many years was hated and laughed at.she also did not break up the beatles, even paul recently said that.shes always been an avante garde true original in her experimental performance pieces and her music, and did not care really what others thought, she did her art her way.and even now,at 80 years old,yes 80 years old! she is still kickin butt performing and rocking out with sean.i have seen her and sean a few times in person, always very nice and im always fully aware i am looking at rock royalty at the time.her class and unwavering belief in peace and love even after johns murder are a testament to them both. brilliant piece, and choice of subject paul:) v/f

Paul Lovering replied:

Your sooooooooo lucky to have met Yoko and Sean ... Green with envy Ed , yep every thing you say I agree , a fantastic Rock royalty for sure , thank you my friend for this ultra compelling message , kind regards Paul

Paul, all the portraits you've done are very expressive and uniquely painted which makes them unmistakably yours! I love how dramatically you portrayed Yoko! Beautiful work! voted

Paul Lovering replied:

I don' t know why I love to receive a comment more on this Yoko portrait than any of mine , I guess I feel such compassion for her loss , I remember blaming Yoko for the break up of The Beatles when I was young and not very upstanding !. But your fabulous words are a thrill and I hope any negative thoughts gone to Yoko in the past are forgiven know Ai have painted her , dramatically portrayed = so Rocks , special thank you Marina xox

Paul, I came back to see Yoko again. I've read the praiseful comments that others have written and agree with them all. I especially like the comment from Jane Small. She is a fine artist herself (as are the others who commented). The way she expressed herself in her comment is the way that I feel as well about your art. You have many admirers & you deserve MUCH praise. Always your fan, Anne F/V

Paul Lovering replied:

Glastonbury, So - United Kingdom

Ohhhhh Paul ! You are just so "spot on " ingenious at getting at the heart of your portraits. You extract the quintessential essence every time. Just look at that mouth that curves and curves till it joins (almost) with the curve of the glasses, the nose, the eye lids. Paul,I have to tell you that I'm not sure that "quintessential" is the right word, or is spelt correctly, and I'm too lazy to look it up right now. But it wanted to land on your page so I allowed it through!! Your portraits are so amazing that if they reduce my words to gibberish, who cares? At least, it shows their enormous power. This is so beautiful and real and inspired. v/f

Paul Lovering replied:

Wow .... What a scorcher of a comment dear Jane , your always encouraging and inspiring words so give me my fix per day , I send my special thanks , how thrilled and thankful am I my friend .. Paulxx

Paul what a remarkable portrait of Yoko, I think we all remembered where we were when the tragic moment occurred. There is dignity and sadness in her facing knowing that a man, musician and father was struck down so needlessly. Very touching beautiful portrait!

Oh Paul, How Beautiful! I missed the interview, I'll have to check YouTube for it. Yoko has always been special to me too. I've never been able to bear to listen to that album ... you know why... I'll never recover from that evening ... can't bear to think about it much. It's just too deep... F/V

Paul Lovering replied:

I will be straight back to you on my return , concerning your Exciting New Book, it looks and sounds Fantastic , lucky You and best of luck for loads of sales .. Paulxx

OMG!...this masterful image holds so much feelings and evokes such emotion for us Beatles/John admirers.......!! I can just imagine the sorrow and pain Yoko must still be carying for loosing John...you can feel this so strongly in her song..."the world is so empty without you"...Bless her for keeping John's spirit and memories alive for all of us...she is one strong and admirable woman.....Another outstanding portrait dear Paul ...that I know comes from your heart!...I was wondering when you were going to offer us a piece with a bit of a "Beatles" flavor!!!....so worth the wait!!! all of your artwork related to John are always sooooo moving ......this one is brilliant and totally inspiring!! Long weekend here in Quebec!!! Have a fab one my dear...and hi! to Anne! xxx

Paul Lovering replied:

Awwwwwwwwwwww it such a thrill to receive a comment on this portrait of the great lady Yoko Ono , gosh I understand it is not going to be every bodies cup of tea , she divided many a Beatles fan , but your wonderful compelling words summed up exactly how I feel , those desperate days still leave us empty of the loss of John , but to wake to this every day , well Bless Yoko must still have every strain and emotion entering her life .... Paul, I knew who this was from the first glance. You have an incredible way of painting faces . When even in various poses, partial views of faces and other creative styles and methods you use, you get to the heart of the subject instantly (BTW, I did not know her age until now. Thanks for the information.) F/Vi
