***SPECIAL NOTE*** Each day I do not accept some outstanding images because they do not fall within the guidelines of the group. At the same time, I have accepted some that are somewhat questionable but come close. However, I do not feature those that are questionable in the group even though they may be very high quality. As a result, I have modified the name of the group to better reflect the type of images I am seeking. Thank you for putting up with my selections, and keep submitting your fantastic work. bobp
TO MEMBERS AND VISITORS: The images featured on our home page are samples of the art contained on the following pages. You’ll be captivated by the quality, variety of styles and subjects, locations, and beauty of works presented by our artists. Please take a moment to peek behind the front door (home page) and enter our living room (image pages). The welcome mat is out.
If the number of beautiful images gives you pause, remember you can search with a word or your favorite location or subject or even randomly pick a few pages. These are well worth viewing, so take a minute or two or even three or four to browse and you’ll be hooked.
While scenery is defined as a picturesque view or landscape, for this group I want to see your very best picturesque landscapes. This is not for snapshots or general photos or paintings of places, but rather for those images imbued with a sense of special character or extraordinary beauty. They should evoke a response in the viewer (in this case, me) such as “WOW!!!”
This group is for landscape artwork defined in a more traditional manner. While they may contain water, waterfalls, buildings, other structures, animals, and people these elements should not comprise more than one-third of the image and only play a minor part in a scene that contains fields, natural structures, mountains, etc. It is not a group for macro-images, abstract images, individual flowers, trees, close-ups of people or animals, etc. A feeling of a greater space must be present. If you would title an image with the name of an animal, a building or structure, or an object, it is suggested that it probably should not be entered. If the image is a photograph, I am looking for quality, so be sure to check for dust spots, noise and unleveled horizons. Please do not add frames and/or writing to your artwork.
Be certain to adhere to good taste, and keep images in the realm of family viewing. Images that are very similar or duplicated in different colors may be pared down to one choice and/or only one may be featured. It’s better if you chose your favorite version and post only one. It also increases the viewing of other members’ images.
All media are welcome, however, abstracts, fractals, and works not recognizable as a landscapes will not be accepted. Enhanced photos paintings, and drawings are all welcome.
