Weird Natural Oddities

The group will feature images of natural oddities that you would not normally see in nature. Use your imagination as you look at an object and imagine that you see something different than the obvious.

All media will be considered, but no paintings based solely on your imagination will be accepted. It must be a painting or a photograph of something that you actually saw.

PLEASE INCLUDE A DESCRIPTION including where you saw the object. Tell us what you think it looks like.


NO MAN MADE OBJECTS no matter how weird they might be will be accepted. Many photograhs are being submitted that are questionable as to whether the subject is a 'Weird Natural Oddity.' Please observe the guidelines before submitting your artwork. I don't like having to remove photographs that are not in compliance with these guidelines.

FEATURED IMAGE POLICY - You will find that I take a different approach to featuring images on the homepage than did Michaela and many other group administrators. I try to select images that I deem as best representing the theme of the group or something that I think stands out as something really unusual. For that reason, I generally do not subscribe to the philosophy of featuring a group of images every week or every month. To do that seems to be contrary to the definition of a featured image.

ALL FEATURED IMAGES must be posted in the Post your Images Featured in 2024 discussion. I will try to keep the images on the home page for up to two months. Your failure to post your featured image to the discussion may result, at the administrator's discretion, in the image being removed from the homepage without further documentation.
