1. Wild Places. That means:
- no people
- no manmade things
- no makro
- no animals except they are a secondarily part of the wild place
2. photographs only, slight or no postprocessing, especially no colour changes
3. image sharpness and resolution for at least 16 * 24 inch prints (min. 4000 pixels for the long side)
4. outstanding quality in technique, visual motif and art work
5. the best You can find on FAA
Some of You may know the World Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. The images in their WILD PLACES category (or since 2012 called WILDSCAPES) are our ideal.
Here are the winners of 2012:
Why Top 100?
Nobody wants to click through hundreds of images. I think 4 pages are a good length to view all images. But 100 images also means: I will be VERY strict. I will reject most of Your photographs. Some I will accept and some where I am not sure will be put up for discussion.
Everybody can submit 5 images (5 at all, not per day !). There will be exceptions to this rule when You can offer photos of outside the US, especially from very remote places.
If You think one of Your newer ones is better, then please let me know which You want to remove.
You have to enable full resolution preview and You also have to write a diescription of the place for every photograph. Please remember: wild places are not only in the US!
And now the new in style of this group:
When we have reached the maximum of 100 images, the increase of quality will beginn: if a better image will be submitted, one other has to fly out ! I will do my best to be objective. Cases of doubt will be put up for discussion again.
If You do NOT agree to this, please do NOT join this group. I think this will get an interesting experiment.
Waiting for Your great work of art
