This is a most remarkable piece and it stands on its own - I don't need to go flipping through an art history book to find antecedents, this fills the space fully on its own. Evocative of the thinking person's struggle to live long enough to learn.

They fly over my house each day and land in the lake near me - so many people dislike them - why ? - they mate for life, guard their young, can fly and are magnificent beautifully marked birds. This is a great depiction of fear. You can feel it in the hare . All your pieces have a nice airiness to them.Maybe the buddah in you.Enjoyed description.

It reminds of someplace in my past...I can smell the winter air...feel the snow under my feet...I look upon its natural beauty and just enjoy the moment of space I am in.

Hi Greg, Wonderful impasto, lovely use of the flickering and shimmering streaks of yellow against the beautiful blues. I can still remember where I was and what I was doing, when Starry Starry Night first aired over my f.m. radio, I was actually completing a painting for a class that I was teaching, and the haunting words of that terrific song, spoke directly to my heart. I bought the L.P. by Don Mclean days later, and played it to my high school art classes . We were all transfixed by both his artwork ,his tragic lifestory, his wonderful letters written to his beloved brother Theo, and by that terrible fact that such a magnificently talented genius sold not one single painting in his lifetime, paintings which now fetch millions of dollars. You cannot have a better mentor than Vincent VanGogh, try and get a hold of a copy of the letters he wrote to his brother, made all the more poignant, since Theo supplied him with all his painting supplies and was himself an art dealer, but could not sell the work. Wow. and we think we have problems, well wish we luck, I am having a two-day showing of my work starting tomorrow, and still have much to prepare. Love, peace and some sales, your friend, Carole, oh and thanks for your super comments.

How wonderful to see La Roche Aux Fées here! This is indeed a remarkable place, and you've captured it very well, what with that ancient tree for scale. I see you've been to Gavrinis too, another magical ancient place...
