MICHAEL FURMAN – PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE WORLD’S MOST SIGNIFICANT AUTOMOBILES - SPEAKS ON HIS ART AT RAGO AUCTIONS ON TUESDAY, MARCH 24.

Lambertville, NJ: The Rago Arts and Auction Center hosts an open house on Tuesday, March 24 featuring photographer Michael Furman, photographer of the world’s most significant cars. Michael will speak on “The Art of the Automobile” at 6 pm.

Everyone wants a piece of the past – especially if it is a historically or artistically important piece. The automobile has matured from its earliest days as a curiosity to a conveyance; evolving from the carriage to the horseless carriage; from a necessity to statement of ownership; from practicality to artistic form; from a preview of the future to the definitive social commentary of the past century. The automobile’s history is a timeline of our industrial growth, our social changes and political direction. As the automobile has become more prominent, so has its collectability. The first...

Arizona Artist - Fine Art Abstract Photographer, Rich Helmer

Arizona Artist - Fine Art Abstract Photographer, Rich Helmer

ORIGINALLY FROM THE CHICAGO SUBURB OF ELGIN, ILLNOIS... RICH HELMER'S FAMILY HEADED WEST TO ARIZONA JUST BEFORE HIS FINAL YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL.

Rich became instantly infatuated with the desert southwest. Its renowned grandeur and mysterious energy would profoundly influence his later work, as would the endless beaches of Mexico and Southern California. Rich's sonic creativity emerged at an early age, as did his unorthodox approach to artistic ventures.

As a mostly self-taught guitarist and songwriter, Rich has never been one to live by a handbook. However, after devoting the majority of his life to music, he abandoned his true passion and decided to seek a more "realistic" vocation. The decade-long diversion is something that Rich still occasionally laments, but he also knows that the past is just that - the past. This is a fortunate thing, since his decision to dust off his vintage Telecaster and pursue his love of photography has left him with little time for regrets....

Art Exhibit Steven Nakamura

March 8th, 2015 - Long Beach, CA

Art Exhibit Steven Nakamura

Steven Seizo Nakamura is a California based artist who just opened his new art studio, “Ancient Vine Studio”, in Long Beach. “Ancient Vines” has come to fruition through a period of growth, struggle, life changes, lack of sleep, and amazing friends. If you joined us at Beaverstock you may also remeber him from the Artist Grove!

Steven specializes in techniques that utilize Red Wine as a medium. He studied fine art and illustration at CSUN and has competed in several Plein Air competitions in Southern California. In 2009, Steven was enjoying an elegant meal and a glass of fine wine from Paso Robles with his wife, on their Lake Forest balcony. Steven, a Trader Joe's wine specialist, began describing this wine as "dark and inky." His wife Chris, asked what does that mean? Steven walked into his art studio and placed a brush into his wine glass and began the first strokes of his art career.

"Colors of Wine”, is a personal art journey and story. I explore the flavors of wine...

Colors of Wine

By Jennifer Bentson

Did you ever wonder what to do with that left over wine?

Steve Seizo Nakamura suggests you try painting with your wine. Steve Seizo Nakamura is a renowned artist known for his paintings using wine as his paint. Steve says his nature is to constantly create and while conducting wine seminars at Trader Joe’s he began experimenting with “Fine Wine” as a painting medium. Steve catalogs the colors of wine and has over 600 references of specific wines by their color on paper, vintage, varietal, and wine maker. He has developed a special technique to gain depth and tones while working with the unique properties of pigmentation and chemical consistency of wine. Some of his paintings take weeks to complete as he adds layers and layers of wine to achieve depth.
