Complete Playa Series by Emily Magone Receives Minted Awards
Magone, an artist born and raised in NW Montana, currently creates from her studio in Northern England. She travels the world, seeking and absorbing epic and everyday natural beauty to inspire her work. Self-taught and with her Irish grandmother's early influence, Emily seeks to communicate the solace, calm and intensity that is felt when listening to the sounds that the earth makes.
'This series was created on the Playa de Mallorca - there are even a couple pieces that hung on to a grain of sand from the beach. It was directly inspired by the calm and colors of the horizon, and I want viewers to feel that calm when they look at the paintings as well,' says Magone.
