This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

Artist's Description
Glomerular capillary. Coloured transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of a section through kidney tissue, showing a capillary from a glomerulus. Glomeruli filter waste products from the blood. This occurs through the narrow slits between interlocking pedicles - branching processes on the podocyte cells that encase the glomerular surface. Fenestrated endothelium (green) lines the capillaries and is separated from the podocytes (blue) by a basement membrane (yellow). Magnification x8000 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
