Nucleoplamsin, molecular model. This protein is involved in nucleosome assembly. Nucleosomes are the fundamental repeating unit used to package DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) inside cell nuclei. Nucleoplasmin acts as a molecular chaperone, binding two of the four core histone proteins together and facilitating their binding to DNA.
