Artist's Description

In my re-imagining of the Greek myth, Pygmalion was a mermalien sculptor who carved a woman out of stone. After seeing the Domiceti prostituting themselves, he no longer showed an interest in women, but his sculpture of Galatea was so realistic that he fell in love with it. He offered the statue gifts and even prayed to Venus, until she finally took pity on him and brought the statue to life, as you see her depicted here, in transition. That's Binky, the trained circus chick, perched on the sculptor's shoulder.

About Patrick Anthony Pierson

Patrick Anthony Pierson

Patrick Pierson: A TABLEAU OF DREAMS, NO LIMITS Born Patrijk Anton-Piers in 1953 on the outskirts of Utrecht in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the artist changed his name to Patrick Pierson in 1991 when he and his family immigrated to America. Initially represented and published by the Meisner Gallery in New York City, Patrick eventually settled in Palm Beach, Florida and established Fyshwerks Studio Gallery - a fine art studio, smithy, display gallery and publishing house that would become the birthplace for the creatures that were destined to inhabit the realm of Planet Zootopia.
