Over the past two years I have created thousands of hand-made 1.5 inch velcro circles. The purpose: to shoot stop-motion animation movies by moving the circles as pixels across a 36 x 27 grid.
But in typical fashion, the materials I created end up being more delightful than any art I tried to make with them. This series of prints is a tribute to the beauty of the dots.
Howdy folks! I am an Oakland-area artist, film-maker, scientist and general pattern junky.
Listed on this site are mostly macro photographs of my mixed-media assemblages of small pretty things. These images were taken at very high resolution and blown up as large prints (I recommend 24" to 30" width) they are quite striking. In particular, on large-format canvas prints from this print-shop they absolutely pop.
