Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

I bought this in the greeting card form. I have been purchasing cards from Fine Art America for two or three years. Covid might have been some of the reason for looking for cards on the internet. Shops were closed. The main reason I buy cards from FAA is because I got tired of looking for cards at the usual card shops. I could find cards (sometimes) that looked good on the outside but the verses were terrible or it was the other way around...terrible on the outside but maybe a decent verse inside. I pick cards from FAA that fit with the occasion. I figure I can write something on the inside as good as any card company could. I wouldn't buy these cards if I didn't think they were wonderful. The cards are beautiful and excellent quality and the envelopes are equality as good. I am glad I can make a copy of what I've bought so I can keep track of who gets what card. I don't want to send the same card to someone twice. In this case, the card is going to someone for Mother's Day.

This is the study I did for the cover of my book 'The White Spaniel', it shows a head study of an adult male Clumber Spaniel looking down and to the right.
This particular study was inspired by a dreadful second or third generation photocopy of a photo of the magnificent Ch Donovan, that illustration appears on p125 of The White Spaniel. That illustration appeared in Country Life in 1927. My initial cover design was to feature a selection from the artworks over time to feature the white spaniel's evolution, unfortunately that would have involved further outlays in reproduction rights. At least the abandonment of cover design one led me to try oil pastels and to keep my hand and eye in as an artist.
I started painting decades ago, as a child. My first moment of glory was winning the school painting class at Berwick & District Agricultural & Horticultural Society (Australia's oldest ag society), no one was more surprised than me! The painting featured a brown thoroughbred winning a race - on very, very vibrant green turf. This, like all my early work was lost in the Ash Wednesday bushfires. That show was while I was still attending Harkaway State School. Instant success led to more competitive attempts, the next wining result I recall was a Rhode Island Red rooster on a fence post crowing - I think that may be been done in Mum's old acrylics (it certainly was a more matt result) and I recall there was a lot of commotion because I...
