Each summer here in Prescott, AZ , the cicadas sing up a storm. When they die and fall to the ground, I borrow their wings to make art. I make duplexes by pulling 2 VERY thin sheets of abaca fiber with nori separation agent. I put cicada wings in the middle, press all the air out and dry the piece. It is easily framed between 2 pieces of glass and looks beautiful hung in a window or with light behind it. I think the cicada would approve.
