I had held off purchasing any Super Bowl LVIII collectibles or memorabilia until I found something that I thought was just “awesome”. When I saw this SI Cover, I knew I had to have it. Honestly it’s one of the best photos I’ve ever seen. Along with the captions it captures what Super Bowl LVIII was all about. Your Photog was in the right place at the right time and did a great job of capturing what Chiefs fans all across the country felt at that moment. As you can see I had the perfect place for it, it makes this wall complete and up to date.

Artist's Description
Watercolor conversion of a film photograph of the muzzle flash of a howitzer in a Salute Battery accompanies the National Symphony Orchestra during Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture during the PBS performance "A Capitol Fourth". This is a technical shot as the shutter must close as the hot gas exists the gun barrel - just some thousandths of a second late and a big cloud of smoke is all one gets.
This is a late 1990's photo. QUITE IMPORTANTLTY, the spot from which this was shot is now closed off on July 4th. The Reflecting Pool at the Capitol now has a security fence around it while PBS uses the Grant Memorial on the East side for performance purposes. I used to try my hand at this shot on many July 4ths - but the closure of the area since 9/11 no longer permits...
The pure photographic version of this scene is available in my Photographs Gallery here at FAA - thank you for viewing!
About Steven Barrows
Very new on Fine Art America - just joined in early November of 2013. Having grown up on the East Coast, always thought of the Grand Canyon as being the at the top of the US National Parks. Have been there twice, and it's a gem - but in 2002 tacked a weekend onto a California business trip to visit Yosemite National Park for the first time - and went resultantly slack-jawed at the beauty of its topography. Have since learned that it's Yosemite that is considered to be the Crown Jewel of the National Parks - and I hope my photographs do justice to that title. Have since made six more trips to Yosemite - and in 2013 made my first visit during which Yosemite's High country was accessible via Tioga Road being open for the summer...
