FAA WATERCOLOR MARK DOES NOT APPEAR ON FINAL SALES
While attending a Classic Car show called, Field of Wheels, sponsored by Newsday, Long Island New York's largest newspaper I came across this mint condition 1948 Ford Woodie. This was the last year these Classic Woodies were produced and to see one in such great condition was a real treat. I took a shot to be able to capture the front end of the car showing the wide grill and the low lying bumper, from there you can see the metal of the car right up to the driver's door which is where the wooden exterior took over and is made of a brown grain wood finish from the driver's area to the rear of the car. The rear wheels having the overprotected fender over them. 1948 was the final year for the old-style Ford, with an all-new model launched partway through the year. The wood-sided Sportsman convertible would end this year with just 28 built, and the all-wood bodies on the woody station wagons would be replaced with steel for the 1949...
