This is a very textural work showcasing a circa 1910 asian parasol I bought in Singapore. I used a grid like composition and added other Asian elementsfrom design to antique coins to complete this study. I used acrylics, crackle medium and gels to create a very old ,weathered appearance.

I specialize in multi-layered collage /mixed media paintings and began showing my work in 2002. These paintings consist of acrylic, oil sticks, inks, powdered pigments and gel mediums. The ephemera spans the present to the early 19th century,specialty & handmade papers, street treasures, antique photos and textiles.This infusion of materials creates added dimension that invites the viewer to connect and get intimate with the work. My training started in England and I continue to refine my art through workshops with other professionals. I am a work in progress, continually experimenting and evolving.
