Artist's Description
Cell annex TEM of tight juntions (zonula occludens). They begin just below luminal surface, and consist of small areas where outer lamina of opposing plasma membranes are fused with one another. Between fusion areas are areas that are not fused. Tight junction forms a complete circumferential belt around each cell, thus sealing the intercellular space from the lumen Sertoli cell.
