Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

Enzyme catalysing DNA recombination. Computer model showing the molecular structure of the enzyme CRE (cyclization recombination) recombinase (small coloured spheres) mediating the recombination of strands of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid, large coloured spheres) at a Holliday Junction. Recombination is a natural genetic process known as crossing over, and involves the mixing of two strands of DNA. Recombinase enzymes snip open each DNA strand, starting the process going and forming a four-way alignment known as a Holliday Junction. It is this structure that other recombinases, like CRE, attach to as they continue the process.
