...The birds are singing
in the trees,
the lake is placid and peaceful,
and the wildflowers
are blooming profusely
at this pretty high mountain lake
in the Cherokee National Forest
in the middle of Spring.
This is the Chilhowee Recreation Area
at the start of the Benton Trail
leading to a beautiful waterfall.
As you view this image,
you are struck with the urge
to either have a seat
on that comfortable wooden bench
to soak it all in,
or to jump into the canoe
and paddle out
to the middle of the lake
to enjoy the morning floating
on the fresh clear water...
