This is a palette knife - or impasto - painting. This technique lends itself to a certain style where painting is done with a palette knife rather than a brush. Layers were added, one color at a time. Each layer must dry before the next color is added. Hours of time go into an impasto painting. But the results are worth it - dimension, depth, and intense color that peeps through from every level and layer. Impressionist yet very real, almost three-dimensional. ................................................................................................................................. A symbol of hospitality, the pineapple (Ananas comosus) is a tropical plant with edible multiple fruit. The pineapple plant is indigenous to South America and is said to originate from the area between Southern Brazil and Paraguay.
