About the Artist

Rachel Carmichael

I love life, art and animals - in fact, I often say that I prefer my pets to some of the people whom I meet along the way. I also love insects with the exception of parasites;, if, after a rainfall I meet a worm on the path, I will put it back into the grass and feel I have done a good deed!! I like to watch a spider create her web and see the colours as the sun shines on it. I used to do chihuahua rescue work but it became too emotionally tiring and I ended up keeping those that had been abused; of course, there is a limit as to how many dogs can fit on the bed and, as of this moment in time, my bed is filled to capacity. They are all a happy pack now and it was wonderful to see those scared little souls blossom into happy little dogs. ...
