This painting depicts abandonment and neglect and refers to both the old derelict house and the dogs. Animals are often left with no food, water or shelter and just have to fend for themselves - this always pulls at my heartstrings! I also hate neglected houses that are falling into ruin - in my mind I always see them lovingly renovated.

I was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in Cape Town and Phalaborwa (a small town in the far north of South Africa), where I grew up as a 'bush baby'. This was the seed of my love for the environment.
