Anita Meistrell Putman is a primarily self-taught artist, living and working in Tampa, Florida. Before that, she resided in South Carolina for more than thirty years. She combines her two great passions animals and art to create realistic, lifelike portraits of wildlife in their natural settings. Working from photographs taken by herself or her husband, Ted, and observing the nuances and personality of her subjects, Ms. Putman is able to see the beauty and fragility of the wonderful creatures that many of us take for granted.
