Beautiful print! The only thing I don’t love is the imprint from the wood at the back of the canvas. Maybe different packaging would help?

I received my beautiful painting which am presenting at my speech at Ocean County College in NJ … HOWEVER the ‘ready - to - hang’ is for ‘horizontal’ and my painting is ‘vertical’ …. I NEED CREDIT ADJUSTMENT or resend a new painting asap….
Artist's Description
I have not many of my textile collages left, just some very personal ones.
Here is a glimpse of a memory from when I was 2. I was in hospital in total isolation because of scarlet fever, whitch had no cure then. In over three weeks I was alone, not even my parents were allowed to come in to me, just stood there in a little window in a door. The doctor and nurse was the only people, and I rejected them totally. From that moment my world never was a safe place.
About Gun Legler
I live in Sweden in a little village near Gothenburg. When I was 40 I left my job as a child psychologist and teacher, and went to art school where I learned graphic art (etchings and such) for four years. Besides that I have worked much with textile collages and watercolor collages. After buying my first computer more than thirty years ago, I more and more concentrated on digital art. Now the computer takes all my time . I have no education in computer art. I am self-taught. I work in PaintShopPro and sometimes Photoshop. I work mostly from photos, mine and others. Textures are very important to me. I think my love for working with textiles has given birth to that love. With my images I try to evoke an emotional response in the viewer. I...

I just had to make it! yes Ana, we are survivors many of us. I can say that the experience I had has colored my life in so many aspects. There, at the age of 2½ I decided that I never would need anybody, so here sits the old hermit .-) Well, I have been married, and I have children, but my feelings have always been mixed. I am sure your experience has colored your life in many ways too.Sometimes I am happy we have the unconcious, that does not give us the whole story, just glimpses. Thank you, and thanks for sharing!

I know it is much better today, for this treating of a child in this way is inhuman! Thank you very much!

These are the kind of memories that follow us for ever...what a striking image Gun...very powerful! As a pediatric nurse clinician...I can tell you that these are the kind of things we consider seriously before putting a child in isolation...and thank God...the indications are a lot different now...Major fave for me! Voted too!

Well Eloise, thank you, I understand what you mean.
Eloise Schneider
I am so sorry - I see why you wondered about the word "fun." I realize that it was a terrible time for a little boy so scared and alone. I just was thinking that the composition with the checked floor was fun - the art work is fun - not the time in the hospital.
Eloise Schneider
Oh, yes! It is fun. It makes me happy to look at it.
Gun Legler
Fun? Thanks!

Such emotion emanating from this piece ! Wonderful composition ! You needed Sharon B. next door to you to pass notes to and share the chocolate cherry worm story to make you laugh. . . . f/v ;-)

Yes Cheri, so many childen have experienced similar situations, and felt a feeling of being abandoned by the parents. It is unpossible for a little child to understand the facts behind. Thank you for your comment!
Cheri Randolph
Gun, this image so perfectly depicts how huge and frightening this situation would be for a small child. I, too, was left at the hospital when I was 5 by my parents who had no one to care for the younger children. It was the first time I ever spent an entire night without sleeping, and I can still remember how frightened I was when they left. Very well done. voted

Thank you very much Anne. Must have been very frightening, but I remember so little of it. Just the feeling.
